P. Gunnar Nistad

Gunnar joined the Seibels Law Firm in 2021 as a partner. He has defended a wide variety of cases throughout his career, including construction defects, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, products liability, truck and automobile accidents, defamation, dram shop, unfair trade practices, and governmental liability. He is also a certified civil court mediator.

Gunnar graduated from Dartmouth College in 1993 with a B.A. in history. While at Dartmouth, he was on the football team. He obtained his J.D. from the University Of South Carolina School Of Law in 1996. He also earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Citadel’s School of Professional and Graduate Studies in 2008 by taking classes at night while practicing law full time.

Gunnar is a member of the Charleston and South Carolina Bar Associations. He admitted to practice in the Federal District Court for the District of South Carolina, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He has argued cases in front of the South Carolina Court of Appeals, the South Carolina Supreme Court, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Gunnar and his wife Cameron have three children. Gunnar has volunteered to be a youth football, basketball, and baseball coach for many years. He enjoys boating, fishing, and golf.
